One Stamp [Set] – Three Ways : Counting My Blessings
Happy middle-of-the-week day! Wednesdays are quickly becoming one of my favorite days since I’m spending them showcasing how to get the most from a particular stamp, or in today’s case, stamp set.
I feel like the autumn air brings about an intense feeling of being thankful & grateful. People seem to take a little extra time to notice things-or so it seems to me. That feeling of gratefulness & thankfulness is what inspired today’s cards. I’ve created three cards that feature various sentiments all from the same stamp set. This is a smaller sized set called “Counting My Blessings” from Papertrey Ink, and it also features some coordinating die-cuts which add to the versatility of the set.
Here’s a preview of what the stamp set looks like:
For my first card I chose to use the sentiment “Feeling so incredibly” along with the die-cut word, “thankful” and a fall color scheme. I included a strip of burlap paper because for some reason or another, I think burlap is just the perfect addition to anything and everything this time of year! The little leaves that are accenting the large die-cut word were stamped and embossed before being die-cut. I love the way clear embossing powder shines over patterned paper, it’s such a nice detail! The subtle pattern on the die-cut “thankful” helps make the word stand out without being too busy. Hand-drawn lines around the perimeter of the card add a finishing touch that ties everything together. This is a great card that can be sent for so many reasons – I love statements that encompass a variety of occasions. Thankful for someone watching your dog, for meeting you for lunch, for helping you clean out your garage, the list goes on and on. Who wouldn’t love to get this?!?
The second card features the same die-cut word as the first card, but with a different stamped sentiment. This time I focused on “to have you in my life” which is a little more specific reason for sending this particular card. I stamped the background with a creamy white color in an argyle pattern. That’s another thing that I feel fits this time of year well, argyle. I think it reminds me of warm sweaters and colorful socks. The green of the “thankful” really isn’t as neon as it appears in the photo, it’s more of an avocado-ish green. A magenta bracketed shape featuring a subtle floral pattern points to the sentiment off of the left side of the card.
The third card of the day uses one of the other die-cut words that coordinates with the stamp set – “grateful”, along with the stamped portion which reads “to call you my friend”. The card base is the same avocado color that was used in the second card and this time I chose to use patterned paper for the die-cut word. It’s a plaid pattern with various sizes of stripes in a deep red color as well as a creamy white color. Cream colored twine is wrapped around the bottom of the card and is tied in a knot near the right side of the sentiment. Simple, hand-drawn brown lines outline the perimeter of the card as well. It’s the simplest of the cards featured today, but I think the message is the strong aspect as well as the most important.
While some of these three cards share a few similarities, they are clearly all different enough and with more stamps and an additional die-cut word available to use, the possibilities and choices are nearly endless! These three cards will all be added to the Etsy Shop should you want one [or two or three!] for a friend. Feel free to pass them on if you wouldn’t mind being on the receiving end as well.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out one stamp set – three ways! Tomorrow I’ll be back with highlights from recently added items to the Etsy Store.
