Red & Green Holiday with a little twinkle
Today I’m sticking with the mantra that typical holiday cards should feature red & green. In addition to the use of stamps, I’m also highlighting some washi tape and some patterned paper. All the cards that will follow have been recently listed for sale in the Etsy Shop.
The first listing that I will highlight is actually a boxed set of coordinating cards. The listing includes eight cards, four each of two styles. The cards feature opposite color schemes. A red card base has a white panel with a strip of green plaid patterned paper near the right side. A super thin strip of silver and white striped washi tape accents the white panel next to the plaid stripe. On the center of the card in black ink, the sentiment “Happy Holidays” is stamped.
The opposite has a green background with red plaid patterned paper along with the grey & silver washi tape and the stamped sentiment.
In the clear box that the cards come in, they are alternating to form a red & green pattern. As with all my other listings, white envelopes are included. The official listing can be viewed here.
The second listing is a fun and quirky card with a scalloped circle to help accentuate the stamped message of ” ’tis the season to be jolly ” along with a polka dotted strip of washi tape.
Hand-drawn black lines surround the perimeter of the card and coordinate with the black ink on the sentiment. This is another example of a mixture of fonts that is just perfectly mixed – a little traditional with a splash of scripty goodness. Red, two shades of green with a touch of black and white are just the right combination of traditional holiday colors.
The listing is here and multiples are available – just shoot me an email or Etsy mail message and I’ll create a custom listing.
The final card I’m promoting today is one of my all-time favorites! Instead of “Jingle All The Way”, I switched up the sentiment to read “Twinkle All The Way” to perfectly accompany two strings of holiday lights.
The sentiment and the strings of lights are both on an elevated panel which is layered onto a white card base. The sentiment was printed and the lights were hand-stamped.
Here’s a detailed photo of the little lights, a perfect mix of traditional colors including red, orange, yellow, green and blue. [Side note – growing up I always begged my parental unit to have colored lights on our huge Christmas tree to perfectly accent the awesome collection of Hallmark ornaments and then once everything was said and done, I’d wish that we had picked white lights. I love the look and the idea of colored lights but in actuality, not so much.] Except on this card. They’re perfect. And the listing is here.
I’m one day closer to my craft show and still working like mad to add additional items to my arsenal. Tomorrow I’ll be highlighting One Stamp – Three Ways and I’m a little excited about it. I hope you’ll come back and check it out. And tell a friend to check out my Etsy Shop. Lots of new items. And sharing is caring.
