One Stamp – Three Ways : Uncorked
Today’s post follows my typical Wednesday theme, but I’m feeling a little off when it comes to creating. I’ve been so heavily focused on working on things for my craft shows and I just feel like my mojo is missing. Therefore, I decided to play around a little with a new stamp set and see what happened.
The stamps I used are all from the same set from Papertrey Ink called Uncorked. One thing that I discovered while I was playing around is just how versatile these stamps are. There are so many ways to interchange them with various sentiments, I think it will be a set I come back to time and time again.
All three cards are pretty simple in style, just some stamping on a layer that’s elevated off of the card base with the use of pop dots. I used inks that coordinated with the color of the card base.
The first card is on a dusty rose colored base and the ink that I used is a scarlet color. The word “Celebrate” is stamped on a diagonal across the wine bottle, where the label would typically go. The accompanying sentiment is my favorite from the set. It reads “because no great story started with someone eating salad.” The panel that everything is stamped on is a light grey color [and is the same color on the following two cards as well]. It’s a vertical card so it is taller than it is wide and it’s folded on the top and opens from the bottom.
The second card is on a light aqua card base and inked with various shades of aqua as well as soft grey. A bottle of wine sits next to a full bodied glass. The sentiment “cheers to your new home” is stamped to the right of the bottle and glass. This is a horizontal card and is similar to the first in that it is folded along the top and opens from the bottom. There are lots of options for secondary sentiments in this set but I think this would be perfect with a bottle of wine to give to a friend who’s just gotten their own place!
The last card today has three glasses of wine near the bottom right hand corner, all full of wine in a striped pattern. The sentiment “time to uncork and unwind” is stamped in black ink and overlaps the glass on the left side. [A little trick that I love using is both the front and back sides of a stamp. For instance, on this third card, the filling of the wine is a striped pattern, but on the second card above, it’s a solid shape. I made this happen by using the back of the stamp that typically adheres to the acrylic block. Double duty this way.] I used a black pen and drew thin lines around the perimeter of the card, coordinating with the sentiment. The glasses are light orange and bright pink and match the orange cardstock base.
So that’s it. Three cards from the same set. I can’t wait to play some more, I think the possibilities will be endless!
Thanks for stopping by, tomorrow I’ll be back with more highlights from the Etsy Shop!
