Inspiration Monday : Current Faves
So as I mentioned in one of my last posts, every now and again on Mondays I’m going to recap some of my current favorite things, not necessarily art related. Today just happens to be one of those days!
In no particular order…
Food & Beverage
I’m not usually a huge potato chip fan, I really have to be in the mood. However, when I see cans of Pringles, I have to smile because they encompass so many of my favorite things. Great Design. Uniformity. Crispy, crunchy saltiness and a wonderful texture. And now, an amazing flavor. On a whim, Jon & I picked up a can of Pringles : Chili Con Queso flavor and they are phenomenal. And addicting. And spicy. And phenomenal. So, so good. Which might just be a bad thing. In a good way.
One of the awesome gifts that Jon got me for Christmas was a Chromecast which allows me to watch Netflix streamed from my iPad to the huge tv in the office [since we don’t have a cable hook-up available]. I’ve gotten into the television show How I Met Your Mother and it’s pretty funny. I don’t think that I had seen a full episode while it was in syndication, but now that I have all 200+ episodes as my disposal on Netflix, it is game on. Neil Patrick Harris is absolutely hysterical and watching this show is making me want to read his book, Neil Patrick Harris Choose Your Own Autobiography.
This weekend kicked off the start of CHA out in California and my Instagram feed has been blowing up with photos of awesome new products being shown off from all my favorite vendors. This is one of my favorite times of year as well as one of the most inspiring. The ideas and inspiration that so many of these designers showcase is absolutely mind blowing. I’d kill to have half their talent, as well as access to the oodles of crafty goodness at their disposal.
I often have the issue with jeans not fitting me since I’m more than slightly vertically challenged and have an above average sized rear, but recently out of the blue I looked at the Hollister website after seeing an online ad. I searched for their jeans, found a couple pairs on sale and decided to order them. They arrived and I am pleased to announce, they fit amazingly well and are super soft, even though they’re sporting a somewhat distressed look. They’re a little long, but that is kind of what I am used to, so it’s all good. Never in a million years would I have guessed that they would fit, mainly based off of my opinion of their advertisements and models, but I’m glad I gave them a chance. I can say that I highly recommend them.
Currently, those are some of my favorite things. The weather has been super cold so I’ve been staying inside while not working slinging drinks and I’ve got a ton of projects that I am mapping out for the next couple weeks. Add to that some amazing art challenges [more details on those tomorrow] and you’ve got my current life situation. Nothing too exciting or out of the ordinary.
But what do you expect for a Monday?
I hope you’ll come back tomorrow and visit. I’ve got some fun things to share.
