One Stamp Set – Three Ways & MFT Sketch 227
Today I’m sharing three cards that I made with my newest stamp set from Papertrey Ink called Signature Greetings II. I also decided to utilize the sketch challenge from MFT for one of the cards, so yay – bonus!
I’ll start with that one first!
Here’s the sketch:
And here’s my take:
I decided to use shades of brown and I used patterned paper from my scrap-stash. I already know who this one is going to and my choice of papers directly correlates to why they’re getting it – but more on that later. The only change that I made to the sketch is that I added an additional enamel dot. I have a thing about odd numbers so it made sense.
The card base is a light cream color which plays off of one of the patterns. I stamped the sentiment in black ink and that’s why I used black for the small stitch marks along the edges of the card.
The card is folded at the top and opens from the bottom. I love the sentiment – I love all the sentiments in this set. Dawn McVey’s handwriting is incredible and I think it adds such a personal touch to these stamps. So that’s card number one – and my entry into the sketch challenge for the week!
The next card was inspired by a card made by one of the designers from PTI but I tweaked it a bit. I also know who this one is going to – because you know, everyone needs to be reminded that they are loved. And he is so, so loved. Anyway – I die cut three circles from various patterned papers and then I cut the fourth one using a slightly different die cut. That little heart that comes out from the red circle is my favorite element of this card.
The sentiment on this one reads “I love you, I really do” and I stamped it in black because I wanted it to stand out. The rest of the card is somewhat plain, but I think it is enough.
I also used pop dots to raise the red circle up a little for dimension and detail. It’s slightly smaller than the other circles but I think that it works.
Like the first card, it’s folded at the top and opens from the bottom.
The last card was inspired by one from the MFT design team a few weeks ago. I used shades of grey and yellow – two of my favorites these days. The little banners are also new die cuts from PTI and I’m falling more and more in love with them.
I’m not usually a fan of tiny bows, but I felt like this one was perfect tied on top of the grey button. The sentiment reads “Hello Buttercup” and is one of my favorite sayings. Add in Dawn’s amazing handwriting and awesomeness ensues. At least I think so.
This card also opens from the bottom and is folded at the top, but unlike the first two cards, this one is set up landscape style rather than portrait. I have to admit that the combination of stripes and polka dots screams happy to me.
And that’s the last card for today. Hopefully something has inspired you! Thanks for stopping by.
