Inspiration Monday : Welcome Fall [& Welcome Back]
I am more than aware that this blog has been pretty much nonexistent for the last few months, but instead of dwelling on all the gazillion reasons why, I’m going to jump back in with some fall goodness.
Let’s start with holy crap, where did the summer go? I can’t say that I’m terribly mad because after all, fall is my favorite season. That being said, where did the summer go?!?
It’s hard to believe that the [craft] stores already have Christmas displays up when it isn’t even October yet! I’m all about embracing the season, but let’s stick with the season we are actually IN, shall we?!?
And yay for fall! For hooded sweatshirts and warm sweaters. For apple picking and pumpkin EVERYTHING. For cozy nights and crisp mornings. For changing leaves and gorgeous nature colors. I love it all! That’s why I wasn’t surprised when I walked through Target and fell in love with some of their fall displays. [I am not kidding when I say that often times I will walk around Target merely for the inspiration it provides. I would love to be a fly on the wall in one of their product meetings in regards to store setup!]
In all seriousness, they have some amazing things in stock these days. Here are a few of my current favorites…some of which I actually left in the store…[shocking, I know!] I had never been a fan of mercury glass [especially in the color gold], but these candle holders are pretty freaking amazing. I love the faceted look – they also have some that are smooth in the dollar spot. And the gold is really growing on me – I might have to change some things up this year!
Next up – dessert plates from Nate Berkus. Obviously I have no need for dessert plates – or even dinner plates at this time. I had a really hard time leaving them there, they’re just so adorable. There are several different designs and patterns and on trend, they feature the color gold. I’m not going to lie, if they are still around and end up on clearance, they just might end up in my kitchen cabinet.
And last but not least [at least for today] is this fox. He jumped right into my cart. His beady little eyes went right into my heart and he had to come home with me. [He has several little friends in bird form that are still at home on the shelf, but I’m thinking more and more I need them too.] Aside from the fact that my pup Harley thinks this fox is a toy for her, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase.
He’ll be on display on our faux mantle, but probably not until after Halloween. His little scarf is more autumnal than Halloween-ish and as you might remember from last year, I go a little all out in terms of decorating for Halloween. This year’s decorations will be going up later this week.
Additionally, I’ll be sharing several exciting updates this week, starting tomorrow. You won’t want to miss this one…it’s going to be big!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll come back soon.
