One Stamp Set – Three Ways : Keep It Simple Halloween
Happy Wednesday friends!
Today I’m going to be sharing several things including a stamp set that I’m in love with, along with three cards that I made with the set.
As per usual, I’m using a set designed and sold by Papertrey Ink. They have cleverly come up with a series of stamps for a variety of occasions and they’re amazing! Each set features a similar sentiment in 7 different fonts. At first I didn’t think I would need any of these sets, but I’ve quickly been proven wrong and have taken to collecting almost all of them! They’re just super convenient for pulling out when I need a quick card!
For the first card, I paired up one of the “Happy Halloween” stamps with some delightfully adorable patterned paper from Doodlebug. [I adore their collections as well and the tiny 6″ x 6″ patterns are a.maz.ing.]
The card is the standard A2 size and is folded on the left and opens from the right. Two banners hang from the upper left hand corner and feature two different patterns, a grid and stripes. In the bottom right hand corner on a cropped circle, three pumpkins are stamped and have been hand-colored. An additional strip of patterned paper accents the bottom of the circle. For additional detail, white stitch marks have been added around the perimeter of the card. The banner featuring the stamped sentiment is elevated off of the card base with pop dots. The font used on this first card is all capital letters and has somewhat of a whimsical feeling to it. This card is already in the 1cre8ivemess shop here.
The second card I’m sharing today uses another stamp from the set, this time in more of a traditional font. Once again I used some patterned papers from the Doodlebug Halloween mini stack. I choose five coordinating patterns that included large and small polka dots, a grid pattern, a quirky stitched pattern and quite possibly the most adorable skulls I’ve ever seen. Everything is mounted onto a light grey cardstock base. It’s the A2 size and is also listed in the 1cre8ivemess shop under the Seasonal [Fall] category.
The third card just might be my top pick of the day. I used my favorite fonted-sentiment from the set – it’s clean and classic in all capitals, with a bold emphasis on the word ‘Halloween’. The background was created with a series of dies and stamps previously released from Papertrey Ink. I made a scene with the moon and some spooky looking trees. I used some awesome Tim Holtz distress inks to blend the colors on the moon, fading from yellow to orange to a deep purple. I die cut the Spooky Manor house and stamped the details in some grey and purple inks. Small black bats were added to the right of the moon. The white panel that everything is stamped and adhered onto is mounted on a light grey background. Like today’s previous two cards, it is A2 size and is also listed in the new 1cre8ivemess shop.
So with one stamp set I was able to create three very different looking cards, all with the same sentiment. Like I mentioned earlier, these sets are quickly becoming a favorite. If you’re interested in purchasing any of these cards, they’re all available in the shop. Pick one or two up to send to a friend and help bring back snail mail!
I appreciate you taking the time to stop by and I hope you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen. Visit again soon, there’s lots more to come!
