Showcase Tuesday : Deep Impression Cards
Today I’ll be sharing a quick post featuring a few of my latest and greatest cards! All four of these cards were creating using a combination of blended distress inks and some of the brand spankin’ new Deep Impression Folders from We R Memory Keepers. I picked mine up on Amazon and I’m so, so in love!
I’m sharing four cards and each one was created the same way. I stamped a sentiment in black ink on white cardstock. On the bottom portion of the white cardstock, I masked off a straight line a little lower than half way down the panel. I used various Tim Holtz Distress Inks and blended at least two colors together on each card. Then, I ran the panel through my Vagabond with one of the Deep Impression Embossing folders. Holy amazingness! The texture is unreal. It’s so cool and I’m a little bummed that the photos don’t do them justice, but it’s the best I can do.
First up is a Hello card. The stamps I used are from Papertrey and I love the way that they are a “written” font as opposed to a typed one, if that makes sense. I used two shades of blue ink for the blending and then a basket-weave folder for the texture. I love the cleanliness of the black, white and bold pops of color. This card is available here.
This next card uses one of my favorite folders that I think looks like crumpled up paper! I used two inks on this one as well and even though it isn’t as boldly colored as the first card, I think it still makes quite a statement! The sentiment reads “you’re quite wonderful” in a fun, quirky font. Seriously I can’t brag enough about the texture and dimension that exists on this card – it’s so cool.
On this third card, I added an additional step! After I inked up the bottom of the panel with two inks, I splashed a couple water droplets on it. I know I’ve mentioned before how distress inks are completely amazing, and one of my favorite properties is that they react with water. So while it looks a little random, and perhaps accidental, it was done on purpose. It almost reminds me of bleach spots! This one also features another sentiment that I love for the way it includes a traditional font along with a written font!
This last card might be my favorite of the four…but that’s still up for debate. I used two greens, a light almost yellow green along with a bright green around the edges. The sentiment was pieced together from a set from Neat & Tangled [remember I mentioned them yesterday?] The texture of the folder that I used kind of reminded me of diamonds and I felt like this sentiment accompanied that pretty well. This is the only one of the four cards that I jazzed up a little with three small enamel dots.
The last three cards can all be seen in more detail and purchased here. I think it is super cool how one “look” can look so different just by switching up several elements or details. Like I mentioned above, I purchased the Deep Impression Folders on Amazon and they were priced reasonably, plus I got them with Prime 2-day shipping! Bonus!
Thanks for taking the time to check out today’s post! I’ll be back tomorrow with One Stamp Set – Three Ways!
