As my other half likes to say, Happy Thursday!
Today I though I would share a few more recent additions to the 1cre8ivemess Shop – all Fall/Thanksgiving themed.
First up is a card featuring the highlight of the fall season – pumpkins! I die-cut these pumpkins out and then stamped them with orange and brown ink. I layered them over a bold brown strip that overlaps a patch of burlap paper. I can’t even tell you why, but I love this paper. I think it reminds me of a sack of potatoes or something else super-fall-like. Maybe a scarecrow? I don’t know. But I think it works! I added a sentiment in brown ink and added some hand-drawn lines around the perimeter of the card to tie all the brown elements in together.
The second card of the day is a horizontal card and features some hand-coloring. I stamped this adorable little squirrel holding an acorn and then watercolored him in with various shades of brown. A bold strip of brightly colored patterned paper in a fun fall plaid accents the top portion of this card. In addition to the playful squirrel and lines around the circle, I added the sentiment “nuts for you” which isn’t overly fall-ish, but would definitely work for this time of year when acorns and squirrels are overly abundant.
The third card uses that same plaid patterned paper along with a strip of subtle tone-on-tone patterned brown paper along with two adorable mice that are dressed as pilgrims! Ahhh! I love how adorable they are. Below them is a sentiment that reads “give thanks” in all lowercase letters in a hand-written font. Those mice are just too much for me, I love them! The color of the card base is a deep scarlet and for whatever reason, it just reminds me of Thanksgiving. What do you think?
All of today’s cards are available for sale in my shop here. On the topic of seasonal cards, I’m gearing up to work on Christmas items already! I know it’s early, but I want to have lots of options for customers and friends this year and I’ve got two shows coming up to prepare for! I’ll be posting more details about those shows in the next few days.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a wonderful day!
