My apologies for missing #weliketoeat Friday – to make up for it, I’ve got a great recipe to share this week. I came home from vacation and ended up getting sick. It kicked my butt and left me snoozing on the couch most of the weekend. Hence why I’m combining this week’s Monday & Tuesday posts!
Let’s get started, shall we?
So, vacation was a blast! Jon & I went to Vegas for a few days and they were action packed. We were only there for three days and I took over 600 photos! While I plan to put some of them in our Project Life Album, I decided even before we went that I wanted to make some sort of a mini album. To say that I hoard Simple Stories Page Protectors is an understatement and I thought that this would be the perfect time to use them! I know in the past I’ve mentioned that I use the Pic Stitch App [available in the iTunes App Store] and recently discovered that I can make 4×6 collages which will be cut down to put into the aforementioned page protectors. It is such an awesome app – even more options with the $0.99 upgrade. So as I work on that project I’ll be sure to share details.
Next up is some inspiration that I found on Instagram! Once I tracked down the original project, it led me here to the Blitsy Blog. I had heard of Blitsy before, but now that I’ve had a minute to check it out, I will definitely be going back – there’s so many ideas! Anyway, I’m going to make my own version of the pumpkin banner that they made. I had looked at the border punch they used in the past and never thought that I needed one, but I’ve quickly changed my mind. Lucky for me, Amazon has most of them and relatively inexpensively. I’ve ordered one and put several on my wishlist.
Speaking of other really cool things, I was watching a Periscope from Poppy & Mint Design [another very, very amazingly talented artist] and she mentioned a website called SkillShare. It’s also an app but I checked it out and signed up for a three-month trial for only $0.99 and am already super impressed. It’s pretty much a site dedicated to sharing what you know, mostly in video or tutorial form. Currently I’m learning how to scan and import my handwriting so that I can make it vector format for printing [and hopefully, foiling!]. The whole thing is pretty cool and I’m glad I checked it out. Like I always say, sharing is caring and you should check it out too. There are so many categories I have a feeling I’ll be getting lost – in a good way! And hopefully I won’t find that I need a bunch of new materials like an upgraded scanner and laptop, but you never know.
I plan to be back on Wednesday with a new-to-me product and samples and hopefully I’ll be able to add a few more items to the 1cre8ivemess shop as well. I’m still trying to get over being sick, so bear with me a little.
Hopefully your week is off to a fantastic start! Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it.
