One Stamp Set – Three Ways : Minute To Make : Holiday Tags [Take 2]
Let me begin by saying that I’m having a minor issue when I upload photos. They’ll be right side up when I load them and view them on my laptop but when I look at the posts on my phone or iPad, they’ll be sideways. Please know that I’m working on getting it fixed and I hope you’ll bear with me. Turn your head or turn your device and we’ll be alright until it all gets settled. Thanks in advance.
Last week I shared three tags that I made with one stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I mentioned that they designed two different stamp sets to be used in the same way. Today’s tags are from that second set.
It’s called Minute To Make Holiday Tags and uses the same die-cut tag from last week. This week I chose to use more neutral colors and while it is possible to intermix stamps from both sets, I only used stamps from this particular set.
The first card was completed by stamping four “layers”. I started with the polka dot background in light grey first. This is the step that could be intermixed with the stripes from last week. The second step was the green thin stripes, along with the leaves. The third step was the combination of red stripes and small red berries. The last step was the sentiment in black, which fits so perfectly between all the decorative elements. Looking at the photo now, I forgot to poke out the little circle at the top where I [once again] forgot to add some baker’s twine or ribbon. Minor detail.
The second tag today might be my favorite of the three. It was created in five easy steps. Again I started with the background, this time in a light, mossy green. Next was the red layer, with the border stripes, the snowman’s hat and gloves and the word ‘snow’. Then I added a light grey layer which created a connecting background. The fourth layer was the black details of the snowman and the words ‘let it’. The last step was the snowman’s carrot nose – the perfect addition. The details on this tag just blow me away, it’s so stinkin’ cute!
The third tag is totally an untraditional holiday color scheme, but I think it works. The background was stamped in light tan and then the flourishes and centered snowflake were added in a light blue. I stamped the symmetrical reindeer in a dark brown ink and then the words “joy & peace” were added in black.
For comparison, here’s all three tags next to one another. I can’t get over how adorable they are, and how quickly they all came together! I used my MISTI and like I said last week, that thing has paid for itself 1000 times over. Such a fantastic tool!
On a non crafty note, I’ve been working really hard to break my life-long habit of biting my nails. It’s been about a month and I’ve done awesome – if I do say so myself. One thing that has helped has been having my nails constantly painted, so I’ve been starting a small collection of fun nail polish colors. This week’s sassy details were added with a small dotting tool and while they aren’t perfect, it’s a start. And I’m happy with that. It’s not the best photo, but you’ll get the idea.
Later this week I’ll be sharing another recipe and some plans for what’s coming in the next few days. I’m still not feeling 100%, but I’m working on it. Mentally I’ve convinced myself that I’m better, but physically I’m still struggling.
Hopefully you’re having a great week and I hope you’ll stop by again soon.
