Happy Monday [Pinners Notes & Updates]
So holy hell do I need to say a HUGE thank you to all those that came out to the Made Local Marketplace a few weeks ago! It was, without a doubt, my best show EVER. [Andrea who organizes it is awesome – I had a great table location and it was steady all day long, most likely due to her endless efforts in advertising!] Not only did I complete a TON of sales, I met some of the most friendly people! Jon was an excellent helper and I’m always super appreciative of the way he talks me [and my talent & passion] up! I couldn’t have done it without his help! My next step is making sure I’m super prepared for the local show that I do every year at St. Paschal’s at the end of November. I am also planning on listing cards here in my shop, but am currently debating the best way to go about that.
The day after the show, Jon & headed to Las Vegas for a quick little getaway. This time we stayed at the Mirage which was new to us, but was amazing nonetheless. And their custom, ultra-fresh coconut macaroons? To. Die. For. [This is a recipe I must attempt because they were incredible.] This fountain was outside the side doors and was so beautiful when lit up at night.
As per usual, we did a lot of walking and even more eating. I feel like a bottomless pit when I’m there. As soon as we’re done with one meal, I’m already thinking of the next. This photo is a snippet of one course at the Caesar’s Buffet. We tried it last time we were there and we couldn’t wait to go back! My favorite thing is the portion size, everything is small and you feel no guilt trying something new. This is a street taco with spicy chicken, corn tortillas, pico de gallo and fresh guacamole!
We had a great time playing a variety of slots – we won more than usual which is always a fun twist. We also went to the Mob Museum which was pretty cool, and definitely something different. It was really nice to get away for a few days, I think we both really needed it.
From Vegas, Jon headed home and I headed to Arizona. My friend Sherry moved out there a few months ago and I was seriously missing her…and she invited me to go the Pinterest Pinners Conference. Um, okay! What is Pinners you might ask? Well aside from two days of awesomeness, it’s over 200 booths to shop from and a plethora of classes to take that are filled with inspiration.
It. Was. Awesome.
We spent Friday morning walking up and down the aisles scoping out the goods. We also did quite a bit of shopping before taking in our first class. There was so much inspiration, I’ve got so many ideas that I can’t wait to implement. Here’s some clues: pallet wood, wool felt garlands and project life. Stay tuned for sure, because I can’t wait to get started. Saturday was much more crowded so we were really happy that we did the majority of our shopping the day before. We spent most of the day going from one class to the next with bits of time in between to scheme ideas. It was definitely a cool experience that we already can’t wait to repeat next year!
In my last post I hinted that I had some big news that I wanted to share. Well…professionally I am headed in a new direction. Before my craft show and heading on vacation, I enjoyed my last day working at the restaurant. I’m going to be the manager of a new store going into Beachwood Place called The Direction! It is owned by the couple who own and operate the store where I sell my cards in Columbus [Simply Vague]. You can check it out online here. I’m not entirely sure when my first day is going to be as we’re still working out some details, but I am so, so excited. It was time for a little change and I’m super pumped for all the adventures that are ahead.
